Up, Up and Awayyy!
Well, we are currently at the 2008 Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. The plane ride was horrribleeee. My butt has never been so soar in my entire life from sitting on a plane for 5 hours. During the connection flight in Atlanta, Georgia, we were boarding the plane when they told us and a friend that there was no more room in the bin for our rabbits kennels!!! They overbooked the kennels, and alot of people had JUMBO sized crates that were taking up all of the room! We had the 2 smallest kennels. We went to the front of the plane, argued with everyone working there. We even had the pilot out of his seat. Eventually after20 minutes of complaining, debating, and resisting, they finally re-arranged the crates and were able to fit our crates in. I was not about to leave my buns behind. Tomorrow is the judging, and I will keep you posted.
until then,
Jen

What's that? a hat...
So, we are exactly one week away from when I leave for Convention!!! I will be flying out EARLYY Saturday morning. I am very excited, and have been grooming and blowing my rabbits every, single, day.
I really would like to meet all of you fellow breeders. I will be doing ALOT of work monday morning, and will not have a single second to spare. but I will be around the fuzzy lop area often, open and youth(mostly youth), so try and spot me to say hello. I have brown hair with long blonde strands and blonde in front. I will often be wearing a BRIGHT orange jacket if it is cold, or black shirts, maybe a tye with a HAT. Haha, if my mom will let me bring it. it is a black kind of Rat Pack type of hat.
if you cant find me, im pretty sure we will meet at the banquet!
Everyone be sure to show up for the youth membership meeting RIGHT after the general meeting(the general meeting is at 10:30 am tuesday). If you don't show up for the general meeting it would still be great if you came to the youth meeting . If you cant come to that, or arent going to convention, you can send me some ideas that you have about getting new youth members involved. send ideas to: makeamark0128@yahoo.com
I will also try and get onto the blog AND forums to post my results, even if I get last place in every class. haha. If they don't have free internet, I won't be able to post until I get back.
See you all at convention!
P.S. most of the time I will probebly have lots of wool on my shirt as I always forget to wear my appron while grooming!!! haha.
until Cenvention,
Jennifer Henderson

Convention Here we Come!!!
CAUTION: This post contains too many topics too talk about, so we have started with recent show results.
The Montery County Fair(youth) yesterday was AWESOME! We had the judge Randy Cler all the way from Alaska!! Results:
BOV solids- MG's Mew SSD
BOSV- Gard's Waffles SSB
BOV brokens- MG's Bubba Gump BSB
BOSV- WH's Blue BSD
BOB- Bubba
BOSB- Blue
and MG's Bubba Gump went on to win RESERVE IN SHOW and BEST OF FUR!!!
Recently our rabbits have taken an amazing uphill direction. Our Juniors, for the first time, look AMAZING! This is extremely rare for M & G Rabbitry, becuase usually our rabbits don't begin to blossom until a LONG while after turning senior. MG's Tanzy(youth), MG's Mandy(open), MG's Tangerine(youth), and MG's Susie(youth), have all become what have been our best juniors, well, in forever!!! And they all share the same dad, AK's Highlander. I have decided to take 2 or 3 of my Convention Juniors to Convention.
the other uphill topic, is now my own breedings are doing great! MG's Oliver(retired) was my first grand champion, earning 19 Legs before ending his career. MG's Milkyway was my second(still showing) having 10 legs, and now being beaten by his own son! That's right, MG's Bubba Gump took a HUGE advantage on the show tables in September of '07, just before turning senior, winning his first BOB, and from there on winning at about 90% of the shows he attends. Bubba currently has 16, pure, BOB legs and winning a Breeder's Class(people enter their best homebred rabbit) at the Rohnert Park show in February '08. Earlier that February, Bubba has won BEST OF FUR at the Cloverdale Citrus fair. Now totalling a number of 6 Honorable Mentions for BIS, 1 RIS, 2 BEST OF FUR's, and one breeder's class, and currently 3rd FLOY, the name "Bubba" truly fits.
Now, knowing EXACTLY who I'm taking to Convention, I can't wait for the day to finally be here. Convention is almost here, and I couldn't be more excited.

Well, Well, Well
M & G Rabbitry is pretty dang proud of how we did at the Dixon Fiber Fair(open show) on 7/19. In show A and C, we had no first places, but PFF's Simon got 2nd place BSB out of the toughest class! MG's Mew got 2nd every show SSD. MG's Twix and PFF's Dazzle switched for 3rd and 4th places in the BSD class out of 9! But the real prize was when PFF's Simon took BOB in Show B. There weren't as many rabbits becuase one of the exhibitors was judging that show, but still, it made me feel pretty proud. That is the first time I have EVER gotten BOB in open when I wasn't the only exhibitor! I mean, I've gotten BOSB a couple times, but never BOB.
anyways, onto Convention Talk! I already have it planned out 3 rabbits that I am FOR SURE taking out of 4(unless they COMPLETELY blow there coat, but lets not jinx it). I am positive I am taking PFF's Simon(BSB), MG's Bubba Gump(BSB), and Gard's Waffles(SSB). Waffles is starting to look AWESOME again! his coat is back, and he is chowing down on his food once again! yay Waffles. The last spot for my convention bunny will be between PFF's Dazzle(BSD), MG's Mew(SSD), MG's Tanzy(SJD), and MG's Susie(SJD). It's such a hard choice! But I'll just have to wait until entry time to see what the juniors look like, our juniors usually dont look that good so it will probebly be between Mew and Dazzle. I love blogging bunnies xD
I have chosen the perfect names for our litter of 4 out of Gard's Daytona and AK's Highlander! check out our In The Nestbox page on our site to see the new pictures of them.
I have started a buisness of drawing pictures of YOUR rabbits! all of the profits go towards my convention fund. I will set up a new page all about it and prices, and examples soon.
ta-ta for now,
Jen

It is hosted in Carol Green's Backyard and there is a beautiful pool, a wonderful raffle, a many friends to talk with. Katie Rodgers had these BEAUTIFUL Plaques made for BOB and BOSB. Here are our results:
Show A: Carol Green

BOSB- PFF's Dazzle BSD
Show B: Michelle Uptagrafft
BOB- MG's Bubba Gump BSB
BOSB- WH's Blue BSD
Show C: Valerie Uptagrafft BSD

BOSB- PFF's Dazzle BSD
and I got the best comment I've EVER heard! the Uptagraffts told me that Bubba should have been shown in OPEN!!! pictures coming soon!
also more baby news: Gard's Daytona kindled 4 babies on 6/23!! The father is AK's Highlander. ANDDD I decided to name my sable point Baby from MG's Tavi and AK's Highlander......MG's Susie!!!

Dropzone
Hey all, we have a new baby here at M & G Rabbitry!!! a SOLID SABLE POINT!!!! the cross AK's Highlander(broken sable point) x MG's Riki Tiki Tavi(REW) turned out great! well when tavi had her babies NO problems with delivering like usual, and she had 2 huge dead babies on the wire and 2 dead in the nestbox. well we feeled around and could not feel anymore babies. well we were in the middle of throwing the nestbox out, when we looked into the empty garbage(except for a TON of fluff we threw in) and ontop struggling around was this LITTLE BABY!!! OMG! I freaking attacked the garbage can trying to get the baby....not a pretty site. anyways, its ok, healthy, it landed on the fluff so its ok, and the mom is taking care of it. and we decided to name it MG's Avalanch.
so, for show results, we took BOB and BOSB in the open show in Gridley. And in show a PFF's Dazzle got honorable mention for BIS and was taken out 3 times! fun fun fun!
so, I am SOOOO UNBELEIVABLY ECSTATIC for Carol Green's backyard show on 6/28! I'm now out for summer and already planning and wayy too happy to be going! Are you going? its a super DUPER fun show with friends and a potluck and there's a swimming pool! THere is a raffle and now a 3 show specialty for fuzzy Lops! its also a specialty for Angoras and Jersey woolies.
hope I see you at the show!,

Doe Domination!
In the last 6 months, I couldn't help notice that when I took BOB it was always, ALWAYS--a Broken Sr. Buck. Then a sudden shift--now the Dos are comoing back on top! In the show in Stockton May 3rd, PFF's Dazzle took BOB, and Cow Palace Show A day 1 she took BOB too. At the last show, Bakersfield 5/17, AK's Meri(SSD) ended up taking BOB and MG's Bubba Gump(BSB) took BOSB for show A. In show B MG's Mew(SJD) took BOV solids over her father and almost took BOB! WH's Blue took BOB in show B making her 28th leg and her first BOB in over a year!! PFF's Simon took BOSB. Now what is it that the judges usually like the bucks for over the does? The chunky heads, well set bodies? I think lately the judges have been comparing the winners of the class more of "to each other" rather than to the standard according to what the winner of THAT CLASS is suppose to look like.
So, we have 6 more babies at M & G Rabbitry! the cross AK's Highlander(broken sable point) x MG's Melon(broken orange)..........and guesss what we ended up with all torts and 2 oranges.......yay torts........funnn...........
until nexttt timee,
Jennifer

Atilla the Bun
So, there has been alot going on around here, with little time to post! Since my last post, we have gone to 2 shows, Monterey 4/20 and Stockton 5/3. In Monterey I showed in Open, and ended up taking BOSB with PFF's Simon in show A, and BOV and BOSV solids in show B. That was exciting. Now, Our stockton results were a little different. In Show A PFF's Dazzle took BOB and Gard's Waffles took BOSB. In show B Gard's Waffles took BOB and MG's Mew took BOSB. I am so proud of Mew right now, she is my recent creation and is doing so well! I love it when the judges say "what a promiseing little doe" and "she's one to watch out for!". It makes me so proud to see Waffles' little duaghter doing so well. In fact, I'm am looking at her right now in our office and she is flopped over, her cute little ears sticking up, listening to the keyboard noises. Darn, If only her ears would stay down! Well, they are improving each day. Until next time,
Jennay Turtle

Best 2 days of My Life
Well, well, well, I just don't know where to start! Lets start from the beginning(STORY TIME!):
It was a nice, clear morning. The sun was beginning to rise, carry cages were being loaded, and you could hear the sounds of the rabbits digging at the carriers. It was time for the show! We were on our way to South San francisco's Cow Palace. We arrived at the show to find no one was there! we figured it was the right place, so we set up and started grooming. Loads of people started coming in and setting up the tables. We got to see alot of our friends, and even met a new person! soon the show started, Open fuzzes were up first. I gazed and admired the brilliance of the perfect head and ear, and nice round body of the fuzzies in open listening to comments and relating them t my own rabbits. After Open, it was time for youth! so i hurried my fuzzies up to the table(with help from friends of course!) and clerked while the judge looked at my rabbits. I was the only youth fuzzy Lop exhibitor! PFF's Dazzle(BSD) ended up taking BOB and PFF"s Simon(BSB) took BOSB.Later in the day, excitement began to rise, talking with friends, playing with bunnies and grooming. As soon as I know it, it was time for Show B! Gard's Waffles(SSB) ended up taking BOB and MG's Mew(SJD) took BOSB. we waited with Christina Gillett and Tuasha TUcker(Christina's Mom) for Open and youth BIS's. As soon as I know it, "YOUTH BIS RABBITS TO ALLEN MESICIK'S TABLE!!". It was time for Waffles to go up! Allen Looked over all the rabbits, and ended up taking Waffles out twice! He was announcing the winners, when he used Waffles as an example of what the breed is suppose to look like! Then he said "BIS goes to the American FUzzy Lop!" I went off! I was so excited I started shaking liike crazy! it was incredible.
the second day, the results were the same as Show B the day before. I got to see Bob and Kelly Tapp, Carol Green, Tom and Muriel Keyes, and many more friends. Well, Waffles had won BOB bth shows like I said, and it was the end of the day. It was time for BIS SHow B! so I fluffed Waffles up and took him over. CHris Zemny was the Judge this time. She even took him out twice too! then at the end, she also called out "BIS goes to the American Fuzzy Lop!" my hearts sank. it was an exact replay of when she awarded WH's Blue BIS 2 years before around this time. this time I cried. I was so unbeleivably happy.

yes, now that finals are over, the stress level around here is down and I can get back to spending time with my bunnies. have you ever noticed how rabbits can sense when your stressed/sad/happy? Our bunnies sure do.
We just got back from the Stockton BVRA show and it was a blast! there was so much competition, youth is really starting to step it up again! MG's Milkyway took BOSB in show A and MG's Bubba Gump took BOB in Show B!! I was so happy to see the entire gang there, and to see some people I rarely see. I think we all know how that goes, right?
well thats about all for now I keep you guys posted more regularly,
may your nestboxes be full of chunky-cheeked bunnies!

Poor Unfortunate Souls
Hey all,
I haven't posted in our blog in a long time. We've had so much going on, and hardly any time to talk about it. Lately, we'e been going to as many possible hows as we can, jam-packing o sheduale. We have gone to around 22 shows in the past 5 months. includeing a 2 day show in Red Bluff 12/8 & 12/9. That was probebly the funnest show I've been to since the new showing year started. High Flying Fuzzy lop rabbit club put on a gift exchange/party for the fuzzy lop breeders. Katie Rodgers from Starlight Rabbitry brought her "famous" fudge and my mom and I made Pumpkin Pie.its was a 4-show weekend, so the rabbits were tired at the end of the day, but that didnt stop them from posing their best model poses for the judges and the cameras. We had great results, PFF's Simon took BOB Show A 12/8 and PFF's Dazzle took BOSB. In Show B 12/8 MG's Milkyway took BOB and PFF's Dazzle took BOSB. In Show A 12/9 MG's Bubba Gump took BOB and PFF's Dazzle BOSB. And in show B 12/9 MG's Milkyway took BOB once again and things switched up while AK's Meri took BOSB. It was a great show, people had fun, and I know I did!
we have once again started up our breeding program from the "show" break the does had. Gard's Daytona proved herself giving us 3 adorable babies, the father is Gard's Waffles. This is probebly the cutest litter we've ever had. Their heads are so HUGE I can't beleive they aren't falling over! lol. they also have excellent bodies and their father's teaspoon ears!! I can't wait until they get older...or, can I?
We have current breedings of Arata's Orangehead(Solid Orange Buck) x MG's Melon(Broken Orange Doe) and possibly Gard's Waffles(Solid Tort Buck) x AK's Meri(Solid Tort Doe).
I'm really hoping to get more babies out of Waffles, he is turning out to be a miracle buck!!!
Our upcoming Shows so Far are Santa Rosa 1/19(my fav show of the year!) and Stockton (2/2?) I also would like to go to King City, Turlock, Hanford, Fresno, and more Stockton shows.
